हम को लोगों से मिलने का कब शौक था
महफ़िल आराई का , कब हमें जौक था
आप के वास्ते हम नें येह भी किया
मिलने जुलने लगे , आनें जानें लगे
पहले मशहूर थी , अपनी संजीदगी ................
हम नें जब आप की , देखी दिलचस्पीयां
आ गई चंद हम में भी तबदीलीयां
इक मुसव्विर से भी हो गई दोस्ती
और ग़ज़लें भी सुनने सुननें लगे

आप के बारे में पूछ बैठा कोई
क्या कहें हम से क्या बदहवासी हुई
कहने वाली जो थी , बात वो नां कही
बात जो थी छुपानी बताने लगे

इश्क बे-घर करे , इश्क बे-दर करे
इश्क का सच में कोई ठिकाना नहीं
हम जो कल तक ठिकाने के थे आदमी
आप से मिलके कैसे ठिकाने लगे

(after having met you, I have changed somewhat)
(I've started reading poetry, humming to myself)
(first I was well-known for my seriousness)
(now everytime I'm seen smiling)
(when was I ever interested in socializing)
(in gatherings, and relish)
(for you, I even did this)
(started mingling, started going out)
(when I came to know your jolly interests)
(even I changed)
(I made friends with an artist)
(and started listening and reciting poetry)
(when someone asked about you)
(what can I say, I become very nervous.. hobble)
(instead of saying what I was suppose to)
(I revealed what I was supposed to hide)
(love makes you homeless, love makes you homeless)
(truly there is no home for love)
(until yesterday, I used to have a place)
(after meeting you, look how I've become homeless)
