Hello,

I stumbled across a Bhangra vinyl record titled 'Pattaka' by Alaap which I found to be filled with many interesting and exciting musical ingredients I am not familiar with placed within a disco/pop context that I found very interesting.

I have been struggling to find more music similar to this but am very keen to learn more about any music that blends Punjabi tradition with sounds such as disco, hiphop, electro, boogie and so forth. Particularly keen to learn what was happening in the 70s and 80s while Disco was such a global phenonemon.

If anyone could suggest any artists, songs, albums, books or offer advice on specific branches and genres born out of the meeting of cultures then I would be very greatful for your advice!
